The purposeful people plan - how Nespresso is implementing a whole-person approach to employee wellbeing

What you will takeaway from this session:

  • Following an internal culture review at Nespresso UK & ROI in 2019, wellbeing was identified as a key focus area and became one of our six ‘Together Nespresso’ pillars. Wellbeing is also integral to ‘ICAN’ - Nespresso’s new global culture framework.
  • Nespresso has invested significantly in supporting employee wellbeing throughout the pandemic and beyond, including shared experiences such as virtual coffee masterclasses, yoga sessions, at-home coffee orders and all-staff conferences, alongside training volunteers to become Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAs), access to the Headspace app and blocking time in diaries for employees to disconnect from work
  • Our 2020 survey results revealed a significant increase in employee wellbeing, with 4 out 5 people saying they have a good work life balance (up 19% compared to 2018), however we’re not complacent as our people have faced challenges with pivoting to meet different demands and continued change throughout the pandemic
  • Today, wellbeing remains a core focus, but we are also shifting towards a whole-person approach, which supports all elements of our employees’ wellbeing – through the launch of volunteering initiatives for team members to give back to communities, Being More Bean group coaching sessions, and establishing a Wellbeing Committee, sponsored by senior leaders and driven by our people
  • A certified B Corp, Nespresso is committed to doing business better and being a force for good – to benefit the planet, the communities we work with and crucially, our people
  • Joining the B Corp community inspires us to go further, do more, and to scale our impact to help bring about positive change, with wellbeing firmly at the heart of our people plan
